App State Online

Online classes offer both synchronous and asynchronous options, using the latest in innovative technology to provide highly interactive, engaging and academically rigorous coursework.

The Off-Campus option is for students who want face-to-face classes at a remote location away from the App State campus. Some online classes might be included. Our three main centers for off-campus classes are Appalachian Center at Hickory, Caldwell and Burke.

Returning Students

Former Appalachian State students who have a stop-out (time away from the university) who want to return to complete a degree or start a second degree must apply for readmission. There are many details about returning that you need to understand, especially if you have been away from the university for a long period of time. Review this page for further details about returning to an area in the College - cas.appstate.edu/advising/returning-students-completing-coursework
