Wednesday, April 10, 2019
12 - 1 p.m.
Anne Belk Hall, Room 342
This event is free and open to the campus and community.
Utilizing research conducted with a grassroots environmental organization in the coalfields of far Southwest Virginia, this talk explores the ways in which citizen science can compensate for state regulatory agency workforce limitations and combat the audit culture (Kirsch 2014; Li 2015) that allows corporate polluters to feign compliance with existing laws and regulations.
