- Appalachian Journal, founded in 1972, is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed quarterly featuring field research, interviews and other scholarly studies of history, politics, economics, culture, folklore, literature, music, ecology and a variety of other topics, as well as poetry and reviews of books, films and recordings dealing with the region of the Appalachian mountains.
Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center
The Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center (BMCM+AC) preserves and continues the legacy of educational and artistic innovation of Black Mountain College (BMC). They achieve this mission through collection, conservation and educational activities including exhibitions, publications and public programs.
Center for Appalachian Studies
- The Center for Appalachian Studies, an interdisciplinary program of the College of Arts and Sciences at Appalachian State University, established in 1978 to coordinate and promote academic programs, public programs and research activities on the Appalachian Mountain region.
Black Mountain College Semester Digital Timeline
- The Black Mountain College Semester timeline is organized by the Center for Appalachian Studies as a space of collaboration among researchers, students and faculty at Appalachian State University. The goal is to merge together digital projects involving students, original video content and archival resources on Black Mountain College from the W.L. Eury Appalachian Collection to develop biographical and contextual information that compliments the exhibitions, publications, workshops and events of the Black Mountain College Semester. The timeline is divided into five eras: before 1933, 1933-1939, 1940-1949, 1950-1957, and after 1957.
- The Jargon Society is a highly significant small-press publisher founded in 1951 by Jonathan Williams (Asheville native, Black Mountain College alumnus, poet, publisher and photographer).
The Josef and Anni Albers Foundation
- The Foundation carries out its mission by working on exhibitions and publications, primarily focused on the art of Josef and Anni Albers; assisting with research; and supporting education.
- The Western Regional Archives, part of the N.C.
