OIED hosts Global Virtual Workshop Series

The Office of International Education and Development cordially invites you to participate in the Global Virtual Workshop Series this spring. Each workshop will focus on a different topic and features a panel of your App State colleagues and other experts in the field of international education.

The first workshop, “Models of Global Virtual Programs,” is Friday, January 22 at 10:00 am. It will provide an overview of virtual international programming and specific models that our faculty have used. Please click here to register.

Workshops in the series:

Jan. 22, 10:00 am, “Models of Global Virtual Programs”
This introductory workshop will give an overview of virtual international programming and specific models in which App State faculty have been involved.

Feb. 9, 3:00 pm, “Intercultural Learning in a Virtual Environment”
At the heart of study abroad programming is the opportunity for students to gain intercultural competencies. This workshop will focus on how to provide intercultural learning opportunities through a virtual program.

March 18, 2:00 pm, “Leveraging Technology for Global Virtual Programs”
The right technology can ensure a successful virtual international program. This workshop will examine technologies available to you and how to use them to facilitate your program.

April 19, 12:00 noon, “Global Virtual Programs as a Tool to Reach Underrepresented Students”
This workshop will focus on how virtual international programming provides international and intercultural opportunities for students that are often excluded from traditional study abroad programs.
