Evea Kaldas Stuart ‘16
M.A. Industrial Organizational Psychology and Human Resource Management
Atlanta, G.A.
THEN:
During her time at Appalachian, Evea Stuart was able to make life-long friendships while also developing her knowledge, confidence and executive presence. Stuart felt prepared for her future because of the rigor and discipline of her major, Industrial Organizational Psychology and Human Resource Management (IOHRM). Stuart shared that she gained foundational knowledge through the program in addition to experience in project management, collaboration, critical thinking and public speaking.
The faculty who led and the students who served in the cohort with her in the IOHRM program were invaluable to her development.
“I felt incredibly lucky to have had these individuals to seek advice from, confide in and have as role models,” said Stuart. “I couldn't have chosen a better program or school. No regrets!”

NOW:
After graduation, Stuart continually advanced within HD Supply, Inc., an industrial distributor that provides a broad range of products in maintenance, repair and operations, infrastructure and power. She moved from her role as Recruiting Coordinator to her current role as the Senior Organizational Development Analyst. In her position, she supports the full associate life cycle at HD Supply through creating, implementing and owning processes, like Talent Reviews, Engagement Sessions, Leadership Development Programs and Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives.
“I love working to improve lives by applying carefully designed projects and programs based on business needs. It's fun to work so closely with many different teams and departments within my organization while partnering with my own teammates, many of whom also have I-O psychology degrees,” said Stuart.
In her colleagues, Stuart most values integrity, commitment to collaboration, creativity, willingness to learn and accountability. She advises current students at Appalachian to, “Talk to as many people as you can, get a wide perspective on your field, different roles, different opinions on industry trends, and never stop learning and investing in your own development, even after your graduate.”
