Dr. Michael Reddish is an assistant professor in App State’s Department of Chemistry and Fermentation Sciences. The Reddish Lab focuses on studying human cytochrome P450 enzymes — proteins that are involved in the body’s metabolism of steroid hormones, pharmaceuticals, carcinogens and fat-soluble vitamins. The idea for an English Department inclusivity scholarship at Appalachian State was originated by Dr. Bruce Dick during a meeting of the Anti-Racism Working Group, an ad-hoc committee formed by Dr. Leonardo Flores in the Summer of 2020.
