Dr. Scott Weir is an Assistant Professor in the Biology Department at Queens University of Charlotte, N.C. Weir's research has generally focused on the effects of chemical contamination on the environment with a special emphasis on amphibians and reptiles. He is interested in performing research that can be directly applied to environmental problems faced by private industry, consulting firms and the government, e.g., EPA. He will speak on campus about "Comparative toxicity of pesticides to tropical and temperate anurans, implications for ecological risk assessment."

Weir has published manuscripts in several journals including Bioscience, Public Library of Science (PLoS) One, Environmental Pollution and Biological Invasions. He is the faculty advisor for QUEST Journal, and works with students on a variety of projects focused on toxicology.
