Biology Seminar Series hosts Dr. Corey Cleland, James Madison University

The Biology Seminar Series will host Dr. Corey Cleland presenting a talk entitled, "Neural Strategies for Escape: How the the Mammalian Nociceptive Withdrawal Response depends on Stimulus Location and Posture."

Cleland is an associate professor in the Department of Biology at James Madison University who studies the neurobiology of spatial sensorimotor integration. His work focuses on diverse model systems ranging from crickets to spiders to rodents, and combines fine-scale behavioral analysis with computer modeling and electrophysiology. Prior to his work at JMU, Cleland received his PhD at Northwestern University and completed postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Calgary and the University of Iowa.
