Appalachian State University’s Office of Research and Innovation will host the eighth annual Research and Creative Activity at Appalachian (RECAPP) event on Friday, Sept. 18, from 3–6 p.m. at the Hayes School of Music. The university community is encouraged to attend.
RECAPP showcases research, scholarship, and creative work by App State faculty and staff. The submission portal is now open for those interested in presenting. It closes on Monday, Aug. 31, at 11:59 p.m.
Presentation Formats
Oral presentations will be delivered as five‑minute lightning or rapid‑fire talks in the Schaffel Concert Hall.
Printed posters will be displayed and presented from 4–5 p.m.
Art and performance submissions are encouraged, and applicants will be contacted to determine specific needs and scheduling.
Space is limited, and presentations will be selected to represent a wide range of disciplines. Applicants should submit an abstract or description of their research, scholarship, or creative work for consideration.

Important Dates
The deadline for submissions is Monday, Aug. 31, at 11:59 p.m.
Applicants will be notified of acceptance or declination by Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, at 5 p.m.
Presentation materials are due Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, and should be emailed to grs@appstate.edu.
RECAPP will take place on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, at the Hayes School of Music.
