BOONE, N.C. — The Appalachian State University College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is pleased to welcome Scott Roblee ’16 to the Dean's Office as the Lead Business Officer of Personnel, effective August 5, 2026.
In this role, Roblee will guide college‑wide personnel and financial processes, supporting budget planning, hiring and onboarding, payroll coordination, and HR compliance across CAS units. As the college's lead business officer, he will oversee position management, advise department chairs and administrative staff, and support personnel operations. Roblee will also serve as a strategic partner to academic leadership and a key liaison with central administrative offices, ensuring alignment between college operations and university‑wide financial and HR policies.
Roblee brings progressive experience in higher education business operations, financial management, and compliance to this role. Since returning to App State as a staff member in 2021, he has served in several administrative and business positions, including Administrative Assistant in the Department of Sustainable Technology and the Built Environment, Assistant Business Officer in Student Affairs, and, most recently, Finance Process and Compliance Specialist in the Controller's Office. He also represents campus staff as a member of App State's Staff Senate.
An App State alumnus, Roblee earned his bachelor's degree in recreation management with a concentration in outdoor experiential education in 2016. His early career included service with American Conservation Experience and leadership in aquatics, outdoor programs, and retail operations. He credits these experiences with shaping his adaptability and people‑centered approach. "The most valuable skills I gained were soft skills," he shared. "The ability to interact with anyone, from any background, in any context — that's an invaluable skill I learned from my professors." He looks forward to bringing that same collaborative spirit to his work in CAS.
