“The March of the Living: 1988, Then and Now” Documentary Screening

BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University's Center for Judaic, Holocaust and Peace Studies (CJHPS) is pleased to host director and producer Suzanne Lasky-Gerard for a screening of her documentary, “The March of the Living: 1988, Then and Now,” on Monday, September 30, 2024, from 7-9 p.m. in Greenbriar Theater on the second floor of App State's Plemmons Student Union at 263 Locust Street in Boone.
Lasky-Gerard's Emmy award-winning documentary highlights an annual, international educational program that brings individuals to Poland and Israel to study the Holocaust and examine the roots of prejudice, intolerance and hatred. With a dwindling Holocaust survivor population, the film traces survivors’ steps from Poland to Israel as one way to heal and ensure that the memory of those lost in the Holocaust are not forgotten.
