Academic Advisor
College of Arts & Sciences Advising & Support Services Hub (CASSH)
Natalie Wilson '15 '17 is an academic advisor for the College of Arts and Sciences Advising and Support Services Hub (CASSH). Wilson joined CASSH as the student records coordinator in 2019 and became an academic advisor in 2023.
In her role, Wilson meets with students who need assistance registering for classes, who would like strategies for improving their grade point average, who are returning to the university after some time away, and who have general questions about their academic experience. When asked about her favorite part of her role, Wilson said, "I enjoy getting to know our students and learning about their career goals and next steps. It is so rewarding to hear about what they accomplish after they graduate from Appalachian."
Wilson is an alumna of both the College of Arts and Sciences and Beaver College of Health Sciences. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology and master's degree in social work from Appalachian. "I love this campus and community so much. I was thrilled to be able to work here and continue to help make this campus a fun and enriching experience for students," shared Wilson.
In her free time, Wilson likes to hike, kayak, listen to music and spend time with her husband and their new puppy, Copper.
