BOONE, N.C. — Blair Ayscue '21, an alumna of Appalachian State University's Department of Psychology, has joined the College of Arts and Sciences Advising and Support Services Hub (CASSH) as a Student Records Coordinator in Boone.
Located on the first floor of I.G. Greer Hall on the App State Boone Campus, CASSH is staffed by professional advisors and records specialists who serve current and prospective students, as well as faculty and staff in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at App State. Students are encouraged to visit the office for assistance with academic planning and questions, registration, and senior checks from a team of staff members.

What are your responsibilities in your new role?
"Primarily, this role assists with conducting senior checks, graduation clearance and DegreeWorks substitutions and adjustments for CAS students."
Why Appalachian?
"As an App State alumna, my heart has always been in the High Country. My husband and I met while in college, and when he got the opportunity to work for App State, I knew that is what I wanted one day too. The High Country is incredible and I love to take in its immense beauty and explore too!"
What are your interests or hobbies outside of work?
"I enjoy many forms of physical fitness, such as hiking, walking and going to the gym. I also enjoy volunteering at my local fire department in Deep Gap, as well."
What is the best advice you were ever given or advice you like to share with students?
"Whatever you want to do, do it now. There are only so many tomorrows."
Is there anything else you would like to share?
"I aspire to one day go back to school and obtain my master's degree in public administration or higher education."
