College of Arts and Sciences announces Lou Angermeier as University Program Associate

BOONE, N.C. — The Appalachian State University College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is pleased to welcome Lou Angermeier to the Dean's Office as the University Program Associate, effective June 22, 2026.

Originally from Greenville, South Carolina, Angermeier earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from Clemson University in 2020. After graduating, they built a strong foundation in procurement and administrative operations through roles with TD Synnex and their alma mater, Clemson.

Angermeier joined App State's Counseling and Psychological Services in November 2023 as the Administrative Support Associate. In that role, they coordinated scheduling, maintained data and records, designed resources, documented meetings, processed travel and purchasing requests, and supported intake and triage during urgent client situations. They also served as the first point of contact for the office, connecting students and campus partners with appropriate services.

In their new position with the Dean's Office, Angermeier will support college leadership by managing key administrative and operational processes. Their responsibilities will include processing budget and travel forms, assisting with credentialing and personnel records, and helping coordinate meetings and special events across CAS. Angermeier will also play a central role in facilitating communication and providing guidance on college policies and procedures to the college's 650+ faculty and staff members and the general public.

Outside of work, they enjoy playing guitar, crushing bar trivia, and spending time with friends and family.

Please join us in welcoming Angermeier to CAS. To learn more about the members of the CAS Dean's Office and their roles, visit cas.appstate.edu/contact/college-administration.
