50 years of giving: App State families change lives, build legacies

Appalachian State University alumni have often said that once you become part of the Mountaineer community, you never truly leave. While many share this sentiment, some alumni have bolstered these connections by consistently donating to and supporting their alma mater for more than 50 years.

This spring, Appalachian State University alumna Megan Broome ’21, of Cherryville, served as an intern at Horizons Elementary School in Lenoir as part of the State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) Public Fellows Intern Program. The program helps students develop their professional skills as they work with leaders of community-based businesses, nonprofits or government agencies.
