BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University's 10th Annual iBackAPP giving celebration begins Wednesday, April 5, and ends Thursday, April 6, at midnight.

Carmen Scoggins '94 '98, adjunct Spanish and foreign language methodology instructor in the Appalachian State University Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures (LLC) and Spanish teacher at Watauga High School, is the recipient of the Southern Conference on Language Teaching (SCOLT)'s 2023 Founders Award.
Appalachian Journal, founded in 1972, is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed quarterly featuring field research, interviews, and other scholarly studies of history, politics, economics, culture, folklore, literature, music, ecology, and a variety of other topics, as well as poetry and reviews of books, films, and recordings dealing with the region of the Appalachian mountains.
