Flood Watch

A Flood Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for Watauga County from 8 am Monday, April 23 until 4 pm Tuesday, April 24. This includes Appalachian State University. A prolonged period of moderate to occasionally heavy rain may result in small streams and creeks flooding. Be alert for rising water in flood prone areas. Have a plan to quickly evacuate should flooding occur. In addition to the flood watch, a wind advisory is also in effect from 12 am Monday, April 23 until 12 am Tuesday, April 24. Wind gusts up to 50 mph possible.
