BOONE, N.C. — Join the Center for Judaic, Holocaust, and Peace Studies (CJHPS); Hillel; AEPi; and Diversity and Inclusion for a roundtable discussion on the impact of antisemitism and how to respond. The evening will start with a brief introduction followed by a discussion among members about antisemitism today.

This event is free and open to the public. For a disability accommodation, visit odr.appstate.edu.

This event is part of a yearlong series on antisemitism called “A Year on Antisemitism: What It Is and Why We Care” sponsored by CJHPS and Diversity and Inclusion and continuing through May 2023. Antisemitism is on the rise exponentially in the United States. We at Appalachian State are not immune to experiences of “the oldest hate” as exhibited by the antisemitic events around the week of February 17. Our country continues to teeter on the precipice of violence, and the precipitous rise of antisemitism is one important marker of that danger. We must understand the nature of antisemitism to understand other forms of hate. How do we define it? How do combat it? How do we protect our Jewish friends? Why do we care? Join us for a year of events discussing these issues and more. For more information, visit holocaust.appstate.edu/events/year-antisemitism.
